Philosophy.
I’m going to chime in.
I think Luis Von Ahn (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~biglou/).
He can convince people to work for the machines. And in doing so, he makes machines more capable of understanding the web. He is silently building the Matrix O_0 .
No mention of the Large Hadron Collider?!
